Candace Abel started making her own soaps and lotions when she was on a quest to find natural, healthier bath & body products. Her soaps and lotions with natural ingredients and an artistic flair caught the attention of family and friends, who were soon asking for products for their use, often placing orders for things like custom party and wedding favors.
In 2018, Candace decided to turn her hobby into something more and established Girl Crush Company as a social enterprise initiative of Second Grace. Although the name was a nod towards her adoption of daughters, it also stands for the “extra love” we place on our customers and the young mothers who work in the Second Grace program. “Healing life’s little bumps and upheavals begins from within the body, whether it's your mind or your heart,” says Candace. “Caring for our body tenderly and respectfully is an important part of that mindset journey towards resiliency and recovery.”
Using this same lens of social well-being, non-profits, Girl Crush Company purchases organic, responsibly sourced oils and butters, and ingredients from local suppliers. Our products contain ethically-sourced colors and fragrances which means no child labor and no animal testing. Our products are handmade in Girl Crush Company’s soap studio in Mount Joy, PA.
